Students may also join the program for personal development, without the intention to teach.

Program Structure

The two-year program includes a blend of structured training, guided practice, and independent study.

Contact hours include:

  • Teacher Training Sessions (approximately every third Friday, 6:00am–12:00pm)
  • Wednesday Led Practice (6:00–8:00am)
  • Thursday Pranayama & Meditation via Zoom (6:30–7:30am)
  • Friday Trainee Group Practice (6:00–8:00am)
  • Early Morning Intensives
  • Observing and assisting in classes

Non-contact commitment includes:

  • Daily personal practice (1–2 hours)
  • Homework and assignments
  • Recommended reading

Schedule

The program runs over two years, with a consistent rhythm designed to build depth and confidence.

Friday Teacher Training Sessions
Held approximately every three weeks (28 sessions total), including:

  • Practice 6:00–8:30am
  • Group breakfast 8:30 – 9:30am
  • Lecture, discussion, and teaching practice 9:30–12:00 noon

Early Morning Intensives
One per six-week block (approx. 16 total), Monday to Thursday mornings.

Led Practice
Weekly sessions where trainees progressively develop confidence leading classes.

Pranayama & Meditation
Weekly guided sessions via Zoom.

Observing & Assisting

She founded Luna Yoga in 2000. She has trained extensively with Peter Thomson and travelled to Pune, India for classes with the Iyengar family. Her teaching is grounded in deep knowledge, ongoing mentorship, and a lifelong dedication to the practice.

This program reflects her experience, offering a thoughtful and progressive path into teaching.

Prerequisites

Applicants should:

  • Have a strong interest in yoga
  • Have practised Iyengar Yoga for at least three years
