Our beginner course is designed for people who are true beginners to yoga. We don’t expect you to have any particular level of fitness or flexibility. We start at the beginning to give you the best opportunity to understand and get ‘hooked on yoga’. The course is also ideal for easing yourself back into yoga if you have had a break or are new to the Iyengar Yoga method.
The course will introduce you to standing poses, twists and gentle back and forward bends with a focus on the foundation of each pose and how this generates energy throughout the body. Each class finishes with relaxation.
The nine weeks is aimed at giving you a taste of yoga - to inspire you to develop a yoga practice. Most students feel the difference within the first couple of classes, commenting that they feel taller or more buoyant or that their mind is clearer or simply that they sleep well after every class.
Our courses do book out as we attract students from neighbouring suburbs: Northcote, Preston and Heidelberg. We are taking bookings now for Term 4, 2017.
The ideal way to start yoga is with a beginner’s course.
It is a 90 minute class once a week for ten weeks. The beginner course is designed for beginners! No previous experience is needed or expected.

Bookings are made by registering online. This is necessary as there is a limited number of spaces. After you have registered we will send you a ‘registration confirmation’ email.
A deposit of $50 secures your place and the balance is due the day your course commences. Our preferred method of payment is by bank transfer – EFT payment.

Yoga is practised more easily with an empty stomach. Allow three hours after a heavy meal or an hour after a light snack. It is best to hydrate well before class so you don’t need to bring a water bottle. Wear comfortable clothing. We practise in bare feet.
Nothing! Luna Yoga Studio is a fully equipped studio.
When registering it is important to inform us of any injuries, illnesses or medical conditions as some yoga postures may be counterproductive. For women who are menstruating or pregnant, the practice will be adapted accordingly so please let us know before class.
